Machu Picchu is one of the most stunning areas of Peru and undoubtedly, one of the corners of the country you should not miss. It is a place of great beauty, not surprisingly, the Machu Picchu was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983, and in 2007 was named one of the wonders of the World.
Its name comes from Quechua and means “Old Mountain”, a place where history blends with the landscape, creating a very special environment.
