Go Scuba Diving
Melbourne has plenty of diving centres so you can practice your diving before you try it in the ocean. Melbourne is actually situated 150 km from the Bass Strait, with the beautiful Port Philip Bay right on the doorstep with load of great scuba locations. If you really get a taste for it you could head up north to the famous Great Barrier Reef, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

You could head up in to the clouds and see Melbourne from a bird’s eye view by taking a hot-air balloon ride over the city. The city looks beautiful at dawn and this is the ultimate way to experience the sights of Australia’s second city
Go Bushwalking
There are plenty of walking and hiking groups in Victoria, and lots of bush in the countryside surrounding Melbourne for the explorer types among you to take advantage of. There is lots of varied terrain near Melbourne, indeed, Melbourne is right next to the ocean, but also not too far from the Alpine national park, so there are countless walking options. If you dare you could also seek out some traditional bush tucker and try some fried creepy crawlies. Or maybe just stick to the traditional Aussie barbeque!
