Tourist Attractions in Paris

The Louvre Museum

This is the most visited museum in the world, is universal works as the Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo and Winged Victory, … and endless libraries. The Louvre was built on the site of the historic fortress built by King Philip Augustus in 1190, before Francis I and Louis XIV was then transformed into a magnificent palace.

The Orsay Museum

Located on the rive gauche of the Seine, just opposite the Louvre, the Orsay Museum is a former Paris railway station. Its collections explore the works of French artists from 1848 to 1915, among which are impressionist painters such as Monet, Renoir, Manet, and Cezanne and sculptors, photographers and furniture makers.

The Cathedral of Notre Dame

Famous for the boldness of Gothic architecture, its stained glass windows or its gargoyles, the Notre Dame Cathedral was built on the island of the Cite de Paris from 1163, and was completed in 1345. Landmark of Paris as the most, was characterized by the different architectural influences that are covered by the angle by which I admire, though no less admirable from any of them.

Eiffel Tower

Built in 1889 as the centerpiece of the universal exhibition in commemoration of the centenary of the French Revolution, the Eiffel Tower was designed to be dismantled after the event, as the other elements designed for the occasion. Survived the exposure and remains the universal symbol of Paris and, undoubtedly, one of its finest monuments.

The Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés

This religious building was built in 558 to house two precious relics: the robe of San Vicente and a gold cross of Toledo. It is the oldest in Paris and its name recalls the existence of fields around the tower. Throughout the centuries has seen many historical battles, was burned, destroyed, rebuilt in 1014 and converted in prison, and as a store of ammunition. Their impressive flying buttresses inspired the architects of the Gothic cathedrals of the twelfth century.
